PARLIAMENTARY: QUESTION

18 October 1982

for WRITTEN answer on..

HKGD

The draft reply should reach the Parliamentary 3 Unit through your

Under-Secretary by Noan WEDNESDAY 13 October

Mr Robert Parry (Liverpool, Scotland Exchange): To ask the Prime Minister, what matters were discussed during her recent visit to Hong Kong.

I discussed a wide range of matters with many people both in and

out of Government. Naturally many people wished to know how my

visit to China and the discussions on the future of Hong Kong had

gone. For my part, I particularly wanted to hear the views and

wishes of the people of Hong Kong at all levels, and to stress

that Her Majesty's Government's commitment to them is as strong

as ever.
