PRIME MINISTER'S TOUR OF THE FAR EAST

1. I am writing to let you know where matters stand

with the programmes for the Prime Minister's forthcoming

visits to Japan, China and Hong Kong.

2. The programmes currently agreed with the Japanese and

Hong Kong Governments are at Annexes A and C. The China

programme at Annexe B has been developed with some

informal consultation with the Chinese Ministry of

Foreign Affairs but has not yet been formally approved

by them.
