PRIME MINISTER'S TOUR OF THE FAR EAST: PROGRAMME

1. No. 10 have asked for updated programmes for the Prime Minister's visits to Japan, China and Hong Kong, consolidated in one letter from the Private Office, together with a list of points still to be resolved eg. whether the Prime Minister should have tea with Princess Chichibu.

2. I should be most grateful if you would let me have in draft a suitable passage covering the visit to Hong Kong; and if

Mr Stark and Mr Cox would let me have corresponding material for Japan and China. The Private Office have called for the consolidated draft by Friday, 3 September. I should therefore be most grateful for your contributions by close of play on Thursday.
