Dear Willie,

Prime Minister's visit to Hong Kong

Thank you for your letter of 21 April enclosing a letter to the Prime Minister of 16 April from Mrs Longmore.

- attached to (36)

Only very preliminary thought has been given so far to what the Prime Minister might do in Hong Kong.

It is very unlikely that there will be time for a meeting as Mrs Longmore suggests, unless the Prime Minister particularly wants one. We have nonetheless copied this correspondence to the Deputy Governor for him to consider when drawing up the programme.

I enclose a draft reply for your signature.

Yours ever

f Holmes
