We attach considerable importance to the earliest
possible construction of the Far East Relay Station which is
designed to improve the quality of the BBC's signal in the region, particularly in North East China.
2.
We are grateful for EXCO's agreement in principle to make
a site available in Hong Kong at cost (in local parlance "at nil premium"). Hong Kong is likely to benefit from the Relay
Station, for example by receiving BBC services much more clearly
locally.
3.
We hope a decision on the site for the station can be
taken soon.
