REQUEST TO INTERVIEW THE LORD PRIVY SEAL

1. Mr Ron Jones, Deutsche Welle radio (828.5646 ext 238 or 0264.65252) would like a brief interview, about 5 minutes, with the Lord Privy Seal on his visit to China and discussions with the Chinese on Hong Kong.

The interview would be for use on the Deutsche Welle programme ''Ticker Tape and Telephone' which is sent on transcription service to 140 stations around the world, mainly in Third World countries but also in Australia, New Zealand and the United States. The Department (HKGD) see no objection and I recommend that Mr Atkins should accede to the request.
