VISIT OF MR HUGH ROSSI MP TO HONG KONG
1. The Hong Kong Government Office are leading on this visit. I have discussed telegram 1196 of 23, August (attached) with Mr Gilbert in that office.
2.
With reference to para 4 of the telegram Mr Rossi is at present in Italy but the reaction of his office is keen and at their suggestion the Hong Kong Government Office have asked Hong Kong to send an official invitation to Mr Rossi. We shall no doubt be consulted on this in the usual way..
