162. May I welcome you back to this sitting of our Select
Committee of Industry and Trade. We have a few further questions
to ask you in what we describe as an open session, then there
are one or two questions we propose to put to you in what we
would call a closed session in which evidence will be recorded
privately in the absence of public and press. We give you a
copy of the evidence thereafter to check anything which could
possibly be better excluded on the grounds of confidentiality
of trade interests and so on. That we could discuss with you
later. We will take the latter part of your evidence in private
sitting. When you gave evidence before us on 7th July, you
gave us some information on the commercial staff in the various
posts. That paper which you gave us, AS3, does not explicitly
