PROPOSED VISIT TO HONG KONG BY THE PARLIAMENTARY SELECT COMMITTEE ON INDUSTRY AND TRADE

1.

The above Committee propose to visit your area from See(83)

13-16 November at the start of a tour of Jakarta, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. They see the visit to Hong Kong as a follow-up to their 1980 visit and wish to review trade issues. In the other places, they will be enquiring into British trade with ASEAN countries.

2. I should be grateful for your agreement in principle to the proposed visit. The dates may, of course, alter slightly before November.

I attach a list of names of members of the Select Committee, who may not all make the trip, and a copy of their proposed itinerary.
