Affairs, London, to grant ICM international staff and their dependants in Hong Kong limited immunities and privileges as, for example, in instant case and other similar minor matters, he could do so at once. It was suggested that ICM Headquarters in Geneva raise the issue again through the Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom in Geneva.
This letter is intended to serve that purpose. May I also express the hope that the pending question of exemption from income tax on salaries, emoluments and in- demnities paid by ICM to its international staff could be settled on an ad hoc basis.
I would be most appreciative of your conside- ration of this matter and of any advice you might deem appropriate as to further action required to have it resolved to the satisfaction of all parties concerned.
I remain, Dear Mr. Ambassador,
Sincerely,
James L.
