COMMONWEALTH HEADS OF GOVERNMENT REGIONAL MEETING: COMMONWEALTH REGIONAL CONSULTATIVE GROUP ON TRADE AND WORKSHOP ON CURRENT INTERNATIONAL TRADE ISSUES.
see (4)
I have been asked by Canberra to issue an invitation for two delegates from Hong Kong to attend a workshop on current developments in international trade which is to be held in Canberra on 28 and 29 June under the auspicies of the Commonwealth Regional Consultative Group on Trade which Hong Kong attends as observers (the Fifth Meeting of the CRCGT will be held from 30 June to 2 July ).
The workshop is being organised by Australia and is intended to canvasS such matters as current development in international trade, protectionism and structural adjust- ment, non-tariff barriers and trade liberalisation and economic cooperation among developing countries.
It is envisaged that the workshop will provide a valuable opportunity for countries which are not normally represented at discussions in major multilateral trade forums to acquaint themselves with the current issues confronting the international community and the matters likely to occupy the attention of countries at the forth- coming GATT Ministerial Meeting.
I should be grateful if you would ask the Hong Kong authorities to provide our Mission in Hong Kong with the necessary information regarding representation at the workshop (including names, arrival times and accommodation requirements). Information on both the workshop and the consultative group on trade meeting have been conveyed to our post in Hong Kong for information.
Yours sincerely,
е
