3RD CONFERENCE OF COMMONWEALTH ARTS COUNCILS

1. You will by now have seen copies of Hong Kong's letter of 9 July asking if there would be any objection to Hong Kong accepting an invitation to host the 3rd Conference of Commonwealth Arts Councils in 1983. I would be grateful for your views so that I can coordinate an agreed reply.

We have no objection.

I have also

discussed this with the Arts Council of Great Britain who are the ones most concerned they assisted in hosting the 1979 conference and their Secretary General attended the 1981 conference. They would have no objection to the 1983 conference being hosted by Hong Kong. I assume they would be invited again.
