1.
We spoke today (1/7) about G T Barnes' teleletter, dated 29 June.
2.
To take the questions asked in the order in which they are raised:
A) WAA will be held at the Hofburg, Congress centre.
B) We suggest that Alleyne and Mui Kan-Kit should join
the UK delegation in Vienna. It would be best if they can arrange to arrive on Sunday 25 July, in the morning; a message will be waiting at the Hotel for them. There is a registration procedure which should be completed in person before the opening on Monday.
C) We do not anticipate an active role during the plenary sessions, which will be devoted to the recitation of national statements. In the committees the Hong Kong delegates would be free to contribute (through the leader of the UK delegation) on any points which have a direct bearing on Hong Kong. There will be an opportunity to discuss this further on 25 July.
D) Copies of relevant documents will be forwarded as
soon as possible.
E) Hotel reservations (two single rooms with bath)
have been made at:
Hotel Amadeus,
Wildpretmarkt 5
1010 Vienna
tel 638738
for the nights 25 July
-
7 August.
