Dear Mr. Ambassador,

I have the honour to refer to Resolution 1981/6 adopted by the Economic and Social Council on 4 May 1981 concerning the convening

of the Tenth United Nations Regional Cartographic Conference for

Asia and the Pacific, Bangkok, Thailand, 17-28 January 1983.

In pursuance of that resolution I have pleasure in inviting

Brunei and Hong Kong to be represented at the Conference as associate

members of the U.N. Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the

Pacific.

I should be most grateful if you would kindly arrange for the

transmission of these invitations to the respective authorities of

Brunei and Hong Kong.

Copies of the Provisional Agenda for the Conference (document E/CONF.75/1), a note on Documentation for the Conference (document E/CONF.75/INF.1) and a note on Advance Information Regarding General Arrangements of Interest to the Participants (document E/CONF.75/INF.2)

are enclosed.

In order to assist the Secretariat in its preparation for the

Conference, I should be obliged if you would advise me of the intentions

of the above authorities regarding participation and, eventually, the

name of their representative, at your earliest convenience.
