LETTER FROM NO 10 ABOUT CESSATION OF TRANSMISSION OF INFORMATION ON HONG KONG TO THE UN

I attach a copy of the letter from No 10 and a draft reply. This takes account of Miss Foulds' helpful minute as well as comments from Mr Edwards and Mr Ward.

There is a meeting at No 10 on Thursday afternoon and we should like our reply to reach No 10 before then. I should be grateful therefore for any comments and amendments by 3 pm today.
