I have the honour to refer to resolution 33/52,

adopted by the General Assembly on 14 December 1978,

concerning the convening of the World Assembly on the

Elderly, later renamed the World Assembly on Aging by

the General Assembly in its resolution 35/129 of

11 December 1980. The General Assembly, accepting an

invitation from the Government of Austria in its resolution

36/30 of 13 November 1981, decided that the World Assembly

will be held in Vienna from 26 July to 6 August 1982.

Accordingly, and pursuant to the decision of the Advisory Committee for the World Assembly on Aging at

its second session, I have the honour to invite Your

Excellency's Government to participate in the World

Assembly, which will take place at the Hofburg Congress

Centre.

With regard to the composition of delegations to the

Conference, the attention of Your Excellency's Government is drawn to the relevant provisional rules of procedure of the Assembly which are attached as annex I. Your Excellency's Government is invited to transmit, as soon as possible, to the United Nations Secretariat in New York the credentials and names of members of the delegation it

may wish to accredit to the World Assembly.
