ANGLO/FRENCH PLANNING TALKS

1. I am having a day's planning talks with the French on Monday 8 November. There is no fixed agenda, but I hope to concentrate on East/West and Transatlantic matters, on which I am generally briefed.

If you or other Departments would like me to take up any particular themes, perhaps I could be briefed by telephone to do so (233 4333). There is no need for any written briefing, though Departments may think that I should have copies of any existing material in cases where they wish me to raise particular issues.

3. I should be grateful for any response to this minute by early afternoon tomorrow Friday 5 November.
