HEADS OF MISSION CONFERENCES 1983-84
1. We need to consider the programme of Heads of Mission conferences for the financial year 1983-84.

Apart from the regular EC Heads of Mission Conferences and the Washington and Ottawa Heads of Post meetings, which fall outside the scope of this exercise, we shall have five conferences in the financial year 1982/83: the Gulf (Abu Dhabi, September 1982); Central America and the Caribbean (Mexico City, September 1982); South East Asia and the Far East (Bangkok, December 1982); Latin America (London, January 1983); and a meeting of Caribbean Governors (Bridgetown, January 1983).
3. Bids have already been received for conferences fairly early in the 1983/84 financial year on East/West relations, Africa and South Asia. Could any other bids reach Planning Staff by 13 December, each with an indication of place, timing and approximate cost? There is no need for nil returns.
