Edmund Lau has given me some details of LIAO Chengzhi's staff at the Hong Kong/Macau Work Committee which I thought worth recording. Copy addressees may have comments. According to Edmund, LIAO's most trusted lieutenants are Li Ho (42) and LU Ping().

(†). An MFA man, DENG Qiang ( (3) who apparently served in Western European Department at the MFA in Peking has recently been seconded to the Committee. Another of LIAO's close associates is a woman called
