Paper identifying various aspects of a policy on sports was considered by the Council for Recreation and Sports. Interdepart- mental meeting was held to consider how a working group should be set up to formulate the policy.

Review of the Control of Publications Consolidation Ordinance (Cap. 268)

To introduce a system for categorising films and to restrict the age of audiences for "adult only" film by law.

To review and consider whether this Ordinance, particularly the sup- pression provisions, should be repealed.

Policy approval in princi- ple given to CTEL. Detailed proposal being worked out by CTEL, and District Boards being consulted.

AG has advised no legal objection to repealing the main parts of this Ordinance.

To keep in view CTEL's detailed proposals with a view to issuing drafting instructions by November 1982.

Interdepartmental group to continue discussions.

Miscellaneous Licences Ordinance

To amend the ordinance to bring the licensing requirements up to date.

Meeting held between SHA, CP and AG. Agreed that moral control over activities should be exerted through the Crime Ordinance instead of this one, which should simplify many licensing requirements under the present Ordinance.

Working group to convene meetings to examine how this Ordinance could be simplified.
