Progress made and present position

Discussions are being held between M & HD, HAU, UPGC and SSB on the additional clinical facilities required for teaching purposes, and the system of organisation and management of the new hospital.

The Working Party Report has been accepted by the Secretary for Social Services and discussions are being held with M & HD on details of implementation.

Detailed design and working drawings are in hand with a view to starting site formation work in April 1983. Part of the project (site clearance, site formation and geotechnical work) will shortly be upgraded to Category A.
