Response to the Home Purchase Scheme has
exceeded expectations, with 5,194 initial applications
received by the closing date for the first call circular
on 31st December 1981. 71 applications were received by
the same date under the Housing Loan Scheme.
Fringe Benefits for Married Women Officers
18.
A circular promulgating the implementation of
the new policy of equal eligibility for fringe benefits,
irrespective of sex and marital status, was issued on
12 November 1981.
Assistance for Civil Servants in Debt
19.
The total number of applications as at
21st January 1982 was 3,566. The number refinanced was
2,500 and the total debts refinanced exceed $43 million.
Consideration is being given to whether the scheme should
continue after April 1982, and if so, in what form.
