The UPGC have tendered their advice on the shape of the legislation to provide for the new role and status of the College.
After an assessment by the U.K.'s Council for National Academic Awards (CNAA), the Lingnan College set up a Working Party to review its institutional frameworks and to improve its academic standard and administration. The Working Party had submitted their second interim report. The Government will be examining the recommendations of the Working Party and the improve- ments made to date, with a view to ascertaining the present position and future role of the College.
Next quarter target
To prepare drafting instructions.
To study the interim reports and give appropriate advice to the Education Department.
13. CNAA validation of Polytechnic degree.

To assess the degree programmes proposed by the Polytechnic.
The UPGC have received the CNAA report on assessment of degree programmes at the Polytechnic and recently tendered their recommendations to the Government.
To seek ExCo approval for the introduction of the recommended degree
programmes.
