Purpose
Progress Made & Present Position
To provide transit During the quarter, an average of accommodation
pending rehousing
for those rendered
homeless by emergencies.
some 11,500 persons have been accommodated in 12 Transit Centres.
Next Quarter's Target
To close down the Sham Shui Po Transit Centre.
16. Construction of
Temporary
Housing Areas
To provide
temporary housing for homeless persons not
eligible for
direct allocation of permanent housing.
The following THAS have been completed:
(a) Wang Tau Hom
person-spaces;
-
capacity 2,111 (a)
(b) Phase II of Yuen Chau Kok
(Extension) THA- capacity 2,953 person-spaces; and
(c)
4 additional blocks in Shatin Tau THA-capacity 310
person-spaces.
(b)
15,171 person-spaces will be produced in the next quarter.
To identify and develop additional sites for temporary housing.
