Rural Public To provide rental Housing public housing in
rural areas.
Progress Made & Present Position
The Hong Kong Housing Society has agreed to undertake a pilot development of some 300 flats at Tui Min Hoi, Sai Kung, on arrangements similar to those for the main public rental housing programme undertaken by the Housing Authority. Plans have now reached an advanced stage.
Next Quarter's Target
To consider whether the Housing Society should be invited to undertake an expanded role in the provision of public housing in other rural areas where there is a demonstrated need.
