REPLY BY THE HONOURABLE THE CHIEF SECRETARY
IN LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL ON THURSDAY, 11th NOVEMBER 1982
Ø
Introduction
Reflecting the wide-ranging scope of your
Address opening the current session of this Council,
Unofficial Members have dwelt upon some 35 different
subjects of concern, although several subjects, normally
hardy annuals, such as transport, land production,
environmental protection, culture and recreation and
equal rights for women, were barely mentioned. I
would like to think that this reflects Members' general
satisfaction with our efforts in these areas. In winding
up the debate on this motion of thanks, it falls to me
to deal with the role of Unofficial Members, the
consultative process, the organisation of the Government's internal administration and Hong Kong's
future.
