The Government today announced a series of senior appointments which will take place in stages over the next nine months(A number of other appointments will be announced, when finalised.

{AY The appointments take into account the organi- sational changes within the Government Secretariat which were announced by the Chief Secretary in Legislative Council on November 1117

Otherwise, they are in accordance with normal postings policy, although some of them are due to the forth- coming retirement of a number of senior officers and the decision to upgrade the level of Hong Kong's representation in the United States by opening a new office in New York.
