The Council noted the contents of memorandum

XCRI (82) 5.

Members also noted that the road traffic arrangements

referred to in paragraph 6 of the memorandum would be closely

monitored by the Working Party on the So Kwun Wat Valley

development.

(c) PROPOSED LYEMUN BRIDGE

The Council noted the contents of memorandum

XCC (76) 14 and the relevant minutes of the discussion on

27th April 1976, which had been re-circulated for information

at Mr O.V. Cheung's request. The Council also noted that,

to avoid delay, planning on the bridge was proceeding on the

assumption that the Instrument Landing System problem would

be resolved.

Members were agreed that, if the feasibility

study was positive, the report to the Council should at the

same time cover plans for the north side of the bridge but,

if negative, firm plans for an alternative scheme should be

provided.

The Financial Secretary briefed the Council on

the 1982/83 Budget.
