8. Consular fees. In addition to the nationality fee, a consular fee is charged whenever a qualified officer at a British diplomatic or consular post witnesses the signature on our application or declaration, or administers the oath of allegiance. A further consular fee is charged when it is necessary for the post to forward the application to the Home Office. Fees prescribed in the British Nationality Regulations (DSP Volume 43, para 13.4) should not be confused with fees prescribed in the Consular Fees Order (DSP Volume 28, Annex 3).

DSP. Volume 43, Volume 49 (held by High Commissioners) and Volume 46 (held by Governors and specified officers) will be amended as soon as possible.
