IMPORTANT NOTICE

Please read carefully before sending in an application

1.

Increases in fees

The British Nationality (Amendment) Regulations 1982 prescribed increased fees for applications for naturalisation or registration as a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies. The new fees apply to all applications received in the Home Office on or after 1 April 1982. They are necessary because of the rise in the cost of processing applications.

The new fees for the various types of application are set out below. They supersede any other reference to fees in any leaflet or application form and its accompanying instructions. THE FULL FEE MUST BE PAID AT THE SAME TIME AS YOU SEND IN THE APPLICATION, but the fee will be refunded if the application is unsuccessful.

Submission of application and fees

Application forms together with the feels and accompanying documents should be sent to the Fee Room, Immigration and Nationality Department, Home Office, Lunar House, 40 Wellesley Road, Croydon, CR9 2BY. Payment of the feels may be made by means of either postal orders or a cheque made payable to the "Accounting Officer, Home Office" and crossed "A/C Payee". Bank Notes should not be sent except by registered

post.

Applications for registration under other provisions of the British Nationality Acts also attract a fee of £70 except that no fee is payable for the registration of a declaration of renunciation of citizenship of the United Kingdom and Colonies.
