PQ ON DEPENDENT TERRITORIES FOR SUBMISSION ON 17 JUNE

1. I should be grateful if you would look urgently at the attached PQ and draft reply. The list of Dependent Territories is that given in a recent reply to another PQ approved by the Legal Advisers. I have not been able to find figures for the areas of all the territories listed and some of the population figures may not be up to date (for example, the Commonwealth Year Book for 1981 gives Bermuda's population as 59,000 whereas in a PQ last month we gave it as 55,000. I am not sure which is correct. Similarly, the Year Book gives the population of the British Virgin Islands as 10,030 but the 1982 Whittackers gives it as 13,000. We said 11,000 in a recent PQ,
