1. Group Captain Johnson (01 430 5678) of the RAF Medical Directorate telephoned to see who would be responsible for the cost of the two RAF medical officers accompanying the Governor back from Hong Kong. I told him that it now appeared that the Governor would be travelling on a British Airways flight leaving Hong Kong on 7 May and that the Governor would be accompanied only by Lady MacLehose and Dr Yeo.

2. The Group Captain rang back later to confirm that he had now been told officially that this was so.
