(c) Transporting baggage by sea up to a limit of 700 cubic feet or
3 tons, packing and unpacking charges, the cost of transporting
from home to port; in effect the cost from "door to door". The
weight and cubic capacity given above are gross, ie include packing materials and lift vans, and are intended to cover the luggage of
any servants whether or not their fares are being met from public funds. The responsibility for making the arrangements for the
packing and removal of personal effects lies with the Governor
within the framework of such provisions as the FCO has in force.
Freight Unit of Personnel Services Department will advise the
Governors of current procedures. More than one consignment may not be despatched without the prior authority of Personnel Services
Department who will consider requests on their merits;
(d) Transit insurance to cover movement from residence to residence
of heavy sea baggage, unaccompanied air freight and accompanied luggage. Invoices should be sent to Personnel Services Department for payment.
INCIDENTALS

HMG will be able to reimburse the following:
(a) On departure from UK to Hong Kong mileage allowance from home to airport if journey is by car, or cost of taxi from home to station, first-class rail fares to London, taxi from station to air terminal, and bus fare from terminal to airport;
(b) Necessary incidental expenditure incurred during the journey. Guidance is given on page 4 of the claim form. The claim form should be completed and submitted to Travel Accounts, Finance Department.
