Mr Davidson was born on 22 March 1922. He served in the Royal Navy from 1939-60, reaching the rank of Commander. After his retirement from the Huvy, r Davidson was called to the Bar and in the same yer joined the Commonwealth Relations Office, serving in aur Degurtment, Nigeria Department and Africa Economic Department before being posted to Port of Spain as a First Secretary in 1962. 1966 he was posted to Defence Departent, Foreign Office, and in 1969 to Phnom Penh as First Secretary and Head of Chancery.
