NOTIFICATION OF GOVERNORS' APPOINTMENTS IN LONDON GAZETTE

1.

I attach a copy of the Inspector's recommendation (para 37) that the practice of gazetting appointments should be abandoned. Although the Inspector does not specifically refer to gubernatorial appointments, it is my understanding that it was his intention that all of these notices should be discontinued.

2.

When you spoke recently to Miss Pippet you said that you would like to ask your Legal Adviser whether there was any legal obligation to publish notices of such appointments in the London Gazette. I will be interested to learn his advice.
