Mr Blaker queried a reference in the minutes of his (6) meeting with the Governor of Hong Kong on 10 March, which

suggested that the Special Investigation Unit only has 4 officers. As Mr Blaker recalled, the answer to a PQ put down by

HKK 38013 Mr Denis Canavan MP in May 1980 stated that the SIU had

(18) 19 members. This, however, represented the total establishment

of the SIU at the time, including clerical and other staff. 1980

The figure of 4 mentioned by the Governor refers to the senior officers working in the SIU.
