Thank you for your letter of 29th January about

the death of John MacLennan.

I have read your letter carefully, but am satisfied there are no grounds for intervening at this stage in the way you suggest.

Incidentally I understand MacLennan's body was cremated at the request of his parents, with the authority of the coroner, after completion of the forensic pathologist's investigation.

I am passing your letter to the Attorney General.
