to go to a lawyer, the Commissioner or what to do. Lindsay asked Mrs. Elliott to speak to this Inspector and shortly afterwards she will state that the Inspector, named Michael Fulton, telephoned her. He confirmed all that Lindsay had said. She advised him to see a lawyer.

She will state that some time before the death of the deceased Lindsay told her that the name of the man who Fulton was meant to be framing was MacLennan. She will state that she also saw the Attorney General about three weeks before the death of the deceased. She will say that the subject of homosexuality was discussed and during it she mentioned, without giving names, the case of the deceased and Fulton and said that an Inspector was being pressured into framing up another Policeman. She also brought up other matters and mentioned other names in the course of this conversation. She will state that the Attorney General did not want to hear these accusations and kept the talk to general matters.

She will further state that she was shocked to read of John MacLennan's death and the way in which he died i.e. 5 shots in the chest, and that she thought that he would have telephoned her if he was in any difficulties. She will state that she was telephoned by a Chinese friend of the deceased who said that he had had a drink with the deceased on Christmas Eve and that he could see no sign of depression or suidide. She asked this man if the deceased was a homosexual and he said that he was not. He also said that he had no girlfriends either. She will state that she was also contacted by Mrs. Margaret Thomson who said that she was a close friend of the deceased and his family in Scotland. She said that the deceased was a very nice good young man who was not a homosexual, and she did not believe it was suicide.

Mrs. Elliott will further state that she doesn't think that she said that she thought she used the word 'Murder' when referring to the death of the deceased on Aileen Bridgewater radio programme.
She will also state that when referring to Police Blackmail on the same radio programme she meant blackmail in the non-professional way, meaning pressure. She did not mean demanding money. She will also say that she mentioned a connection between homosexuality and suicide on the same programme saying that homosexuals may feel that they cannot cope with the situation. She will state that she does not know if the deceased was a homosexual or not and that she does not know the reason he took his own life. She will say that she cannot remember the deceased specifically telling her that he was being framed. She will further state that she has information on homosexual activities in Hong Kong and that if it concerned consenting adults she would not report it but that if it involved young boys then she would.
