mental torture,
I reconsidered the fluency, the pressure exerted, the speed,
angularity and curvature of the handwriting in the alleged
suicide note. I compared it in minute detail with other
correspondence written by Inspector Maclennan.
1 would
have anticipated variation and disjointed fluency, disturbed
pressure, hesitation and possibly an attempt at intentional disguise somewhere in the wording in such circumstances.
I found no evidence which was consistent with this theory.
have to consider the possibility of medical ailments when
examining the signatures on alleged suicide notes, Last
Wills and Testaments and similar documents in question.
It is unusual for medical evidence to be available covering
the specific time of signing this type of document;
therefore, having spent many years researching into
variations of handwriting associated with known medical
ailments, I am in a position to give and have given,
evidence on this.
consider in this case it may be
important for the Commission to know the calculations I have
made.
I found no evidence that the writing contained any type of
disturbance that I would associate with an excess of alcohol
or drugs which understand from reading the various
resports, agrees with the medical evidence and there were
no indications that were consistent with any mental or
physical ailment; within my own research.
