I seem to have gone on a bit but I hope it explains our somewhat abstruse return. Incidentally, while we are on the subject, would you confirm that the sundry returns you receive from us at varying intervals on illegal immigrants, legal immigrants and Vietnamese refugees, are all still of use. The weekly telegram on immigration from China is a case in point to me it has lost much of its value, although I do see daily figures. What I primarily rely on to detect trends are the monthly figures, with the daily average for the month, as given for example in the LIC monthly report.
