of the large number of immigrants from China in the last five years there are numbers of men who have entered illegally and left wives behind in China; there are opportunities for wives to apply to the Chinese authorities to leave China legally and that bearing in mind the immigration pressures on Hong Kong the existing policy of returning illegal immigrants to China including wives who enter illegally, must be maintained.
