Mr Webb-Johnson, Deputy Commissioner of the Hong Kong Government Office, recently met Mr Elmer Chu, a prominent Hong Kong textile manufacturer.

1.

2. Mr Chu said that during a recent visit to China, a Chinese official had expressed puzzlement over the relevance of the British Nationality Bill to persons born in the New Territories. They were obviously Chinese so how did the Nationality Bill affect them? Clearly there is a lot of muddled thinking being created by this Bill.
