NEED TO REDEFINE THE TERM 'NATIONAL FOR EC PURPOSES

1. The new terminology introduced by the Bill will require a redefinition of the term national for EC purposes. We intend to ensure that Gibraltarians are still covered. The present rights of Gibraltarians in the EC would therefore not be affected and the people of Gibraltar would thus continue uniquely among the dependent territories to enjoy those rights which flow from EC membership.
