Hong Kong Memorandum

7. Mr Chan provided copies of the latest Hong Kong Memorandum on the Bill. It was agreed that this should be passed to the Home Office.

European Common Passport

Sir E Youde explained the pressures from our European partners for an early announcement on the future adoption of a common passport. However, this would not be introduced by the UK for some years. It would be open to the Dependent Territories to adopt a similar format (ie machine readable) if they so wished.
