VERNON

(cont'd)

This matter was discussed with our partners and they also recognise the potential problem. Leon Hill, in particular, who will be the person responsible for heading up the organisation in Hong Kong and turning it around, fully appreciates those difficulties. Because of our association in countries outside Australia particularly in the Asian Japanese, S.E. Asian region, we have already had quite a lot of contact with people of different cultures to ourselves and we recognise that there may be different approaches necessary.

SCOTT

Could I go back to your relationship with RTZ. Could you explain the geographical relationships?

Do you see any problems, because of RTZ's being in South Africa, in the Asian context?

VERNON

No, we have never really regarded it as a problem. We understand that RTZ has some difficulties because of their association with South Africa and I think it is a very difficult decision to have to take as to whether they should be involved in South Africa or not. I know that their general philosophy which is the only philosophy that can be applied and is one that we always apply is that it is very important to obey the laws of the country in which you are operating, and to operate by the rules and regulations which are laid down by the Government of that particular country.
