1. Thank you for your letter of 8 June. We are arranging for this information to be passed to Hong Kong and are grate- ful for the relaxation which you have agreed. I note that at present you are not applying the more restricted family reunion criteria to the balance of the 10,000 quota from Hong Kong. As that quota approaches completion it would be very helpful if we could review the situation together in order to consider the position in the light of the special circumstances of Hong Kong. It may be that more relaxed criteria will be

appropriate.
