PROPOSED PRIVATE TREATY GRANTS OF LA ND TO THE MASS TRANSIT RAILWAY CORPORATION

Introduction
The purpose of this memorandum is to seek Honourable Members' approval for the grant to the Mass Transit Railway Corporation by private treaty of the following seven sites on the basic terms set out in Annex B.

221 D and E Nathan Road (to be known as Kowloon Inland Lot No 10619);
308/308A Nathan Road (to be known as Kowloon Inland Lot No 10620);
(iii) 776/778 Nathan Road (to be known as Kowloon
Inland Lot No 10621);

(vi)
781 (part) and 783 Nathan Road (to be known as Kowloon Inland Lot No 1063 4);
796/802 Nathan Road (to be known as Kowloon Inland Lot No 10632);
2/4 Tai Po Road and 43 Boundary Street (to be known as New Kowloon Inland Lot No 5772); and (vii) 197-209 Sai Yeung Choi Street (to be known as
New Kowloon Inland Lot No 5767); and
(b) to seek approval in principle to the grant on terms
still to be formulated of two further sites required in connection with the Tsuen Wan Extension, i.e. 769/769A Nathan Road; and 241 Cheung Sha Wan Road.
Background
2.
On 29th July 1975, after considering memorandum XCC(75)45, Honourable Members advised and the Governor ordered, inter alia, that the statement of principles for grants of land, and interests in land, to the future Mass Transit Railway Corporation set out in Annex B to the memorandum should be adopted. Paragraphs 6-8 of that memorandum (Annex A) summarise the principles to be adopted in respect of the proposed land grants to the Corporation.
