The generating capacity reliability of the CLP system in 1989/90, with the generation development presently planned and 60% of the nuclear power station output (i.e. 2 x 540 MW), is found satisfactory;
The generating capacity reliability of the GPC and CLP systems would be markedly enhanced if mutual assistance between the two systems is arranged under emergency conditions. The amount of enhancement is dependent on the maximum support capacity agreed by the two companies. It is recommended that the feasibility of effecting mutual support under emergency conditions should be pursued as a separate issue.
Transmission Cost
Based on
the budgetary prices obtained from overseas manufacturers, the cost of the transmission system for accommodation of the nuclear power station, assumed to be located at Dong Shan, is estimated at US$500m (1980 prices). This cost would be shared in the following
