Information is not available for 1980-81. In 1979-80 the countries sending over 2,000 students here were as follows:-
Malaysia (13,617), Iran (7,716), Hong Kong (6,130), Nigeria (4,897) USA (3,220) Greece (2,901), Iraq (2,367) and Zimbabwe (2,041).
From the European Community in 1979-80 there were 2,839 (provisional), the largest groups coming from Germany (960), France (464), the Republic of Ireland (454), Italy (332) and Holland (325); the remainder came from Belgium (140), Denmark (128) and Luxembourg (35).
