In his letter to you of 9 June, Iain Orr mentioned the first in a series of articles on HongKong which appeared in the new Peking monthly "Liaowang."

I enclose a translation prepared by FBIS of the 3rd article. Since it was of rather limited interest, FBIS decided not to run it on the wire. However, it is significant that the magazine should go in for this sort of social commentary on Hong Kong, even though the general aim of painting the territory in an unattractive light has been restored.

3.

We seem not to have received the 2nd edition of "Liaowang". If Peking have a copy still we should be very interested to see it.
